now you know i don’t normally wear other designers’ dresses, but this one was just so simple and ‘easy,’ i couldn’t resist (plus it was on sale at Bloomingdale’s for a ridiculously low price). i like it, it has a really extra wide skirt— and side seam interior pockets.

oh! if by some chance you’ve read PX This and you happen to remember— this is the very same dress that Graziano de Boni and Caroline Fabre Bazin inquired about, during Paris Fashion Week, the same one i later sent to Caroline, except in a smoky grayish blue.

dress: Geld Iaz, 1998 | boots: All Saints, 2009 | pants (underneath): Adidas, 2010 | travel bag: Louis Vuitton, 2006

okay i don’t know if you’ve noticed it by now, but i have a bit of a travel routine. i always fly out of NY in the black mesh dress, and i always fly back into NY in the flesh mesh dress (mess). i don’t know why, i just do.

as much as i really enjoy visiting Miami, it is pretty nice to click your heels… there’s no place like home… there’s no place like home.

urban jungle – 02

remember when i said something like The W is my new favorite hotel in Miami? well i kinda take it back. sort of.

one of the great things about Miami Beach (as opposed to the other wonderful quick direct-flight getaways like Punta Cana, Providenciales, or Bahia Beach) is that when you arrive, you aren’t just stuck in one resort all the time with no place else to go. it’s a lot like NYC in that you can pretty much walk everywhere and there are so many good restaurants and shops and whatnot. also it has all the major mega-drugstores, which makes packing so much easier, you never have to be afraid you’ve forgotten something important like aspirin or tampons or your favorite brand of toothpaste.

the funny thing about The Setai though, is that you arrive at its Miami Beach location and then you never want to leave the place. as much as i used to love The Raleigh and do appreciate The W, i must say this visit totally reminded me The Setai really really really is above and beyond all others. every amenity is truly superb and the service is remarkably impeccable. so, yea. and i just signed up for a Starwood Preferred Guest membership too. sigh, ah well.
