i’m sure i wasn’t the only one who appreciated the sunshine-that-it-seems-we-haven’t-felt-in-months. the streets and stores and restaurants and whatnot all seemed quite bustling yesterday, everybody was out and about despite the still-freezing temperature.
drinks at "the Boom Boom" at Standard Hotel. although on certain nights when you’re feeling festive or have friends visiting from out of town, it’s undoubtedly quite nice to be one of "the chosen" at a place where "people are all the same [and… everybody knows your name]" — it’s actually the earlier hours at the Boom i really love the best, i don’t care what anybody says. ha ha ahaa oh okay who am i kidding, i wouldn’t trade my elite nocturnal status for all the early-hour democracy in the world. this is true.
okay so i’m gradually beginning to grasp how difficult it is to take photos of the primps & clothes in the dark. which is kinda a bummer because obviously all the primping up and clothing (down? haa) mostly happens at night inside very dark places. i can’t stand flashbulbs in restaurants and bars and hotels and whatnot because it makes everything look horrendous and it’s disturbing to the guests and staff and everbody; you look like a silly tourist or something. or worse: a food blogger.
thank goodness the days are getting longer again. can’t wait for this stupid winter to be over. popped in for drinks at this new spot that just opened right in the neighborhood called Alma33. it was okay. the space looks great though, they did a nicer job than the poor prior restaurant which only lasted about a year or so.
and true, the two separate books pretty much do cost the same, so i guess that’s not a very good excuse for depriving the early purchaser’s of the original version (thank you!) of the lovely visual eye-candy afforded within The Revised Edition only. fair enough!
so yah. here’s all the photos contained in PX This -The Revised Edition. Thank you for your interest.

"…so what comes next after a live appearance on Australia’s [number-one rated] morning show?"
food! of course. dinner at Maialino at The Gramercy Hotel, because it was just a short stroll from the recording studio/spaceship that zzzzoom! satellites you all the way to the land of the kangaroos.
